From Kisae, the inverter manufacturer:
The “r2.0” is the software version number of the detachable (remote) display panel. This message should appear temporarily (for about 1 -3 sec) during the initial period after turning the unit on. It should be followed by the main board software version (e.g. “u3.0” or similar) before finally starting operating normally (after about 6–9 sec. in total). My apologies for not being explained in the owner’s manual.
If the “r2.0” message remains steady on the display (i.e. for more than 10 sec.), it would mean there is a communication problem (e.g. in the cable and/or main unit board) between the detachable panel and the main unit.
If the detachable panel has been installed remotely (as per your case according to your attached picture), make sure that both edges of the corresponding long cable (shown below) is actually plugged to both the remote and the main unit, and try to check its continuity and conditions based on the following pinout information (find it attached as well).
IMPORTANT: Do NOT cut (e.g. with a plier or scissors) or manipulate the contacts of the RJ12 cable of the detachable panel (e.g. by cleaning its contacts with a brush with metal hairs, etc.), when it is plugged into the unit, even with the unit turned Off.
NEVER use the optional remote On/Off switch (S/N RM1201-00) for units with detachable panels like this one. Doing so would damage the unit immediately. The RM1201-00 remote On/Off switch is intended for our single inverters series only.
If the detachable panel has been installed remotely (i.e. by using the long cable provided in the box), try to check the continuity and conditions of the RJ12-6-pins in their plugs, based on the attached pinout information.
If everything results unsuccessful and the display continues showing a steady (>10 sec.) “r2.0” on the display, as per your case, definitely the problem is in the main unit (please check the possible reasons for a steady “r2.0” message on the display after my signature below).
If that is the case, the entire unit has to be replaced with a new one (I hope it is within our one-year warranty since the date the boat was sold) .
In that sense, please provide me with the following information:
The serial number of the damaged unit. It is a 10-digit number starting with KT…….. on the barcode sticker located on the bottom metal flat cover of the unit. It is on the original box as well. If it is difficult to access it now, please do not forget to send it to me later, after swapping the unit with the new replacement one.
The proof of purchase. It is required to check the warranty condition of the unit. It could be a copy of the boat invoice/receipt. If you do not have any proof of purchase in writing, please let me know.
The shipping address where we have to ship the new replacement unit to.
