Hey Jude
I have a 2018 C-302 with two 300HP Yamaha engines. They look like they're not aligned parallel to one another. I haven't done any measurements to verify what I think I'm seeing but am wondering two things. First are the engines supposed to be parallel with each other, or are they to be toed out or in? Secondly, how would or what would I measure to determine whether the engines are aligned per specifications. I'm pulling the boat out of the water the end of May and want to be prepared.

Hi there,

The engines should be toed in slightly. A difference of up to about 3/4 inch is good. This is best measured at the distance between the dead center of the prop hubs and the dead center of the leading edge of the lower unit, directly ahead of the prop nuts. You want to see that the leading edges are slightly closer together than the prop nuts. You will need to have the boat out of the water to do this. Hope this helps get you started but please let us know.

Cheers!

Ralf
