Packing Gland- What type of lubricant?

My local technician asked me if I could find out what type of lubricant is utilized in the packing gland- wax or Teflon? 2016 Volvo Penta D3 220 Thanks

I think he is asking you what type of packing, impregnated with wax or teflon. Either one will work it's just a personal preference. I like the teflon as I seem to get a better performance out of the pumps that I've repacked using it. Bob

Thanks- he is asking that..but wants to know which one was used previously by cutwater....do they stick with using one or the other all the time?..thanks again
