Hi, I have a nail R23 and this part is located in the middle back under the opening below the seat. It runs intermittently even when power is completely turned off to the boat. No shore power, batteries in off position.

Rule Lopro Submersible Pump Lp900D bilge pump

That is by design on that particular pump. It cycles on every 2.5 minutes to test for water.

I know the question is answered, but worth noting -- these pumps are wired straight to the batteries (w/ fuse). They do NOT go through a switching panel. If you want to disable them, you literally need to unplug them.

On the R-31 this was fused, and I find it hard to believe it is not fused on all tugs. A faulted pump could lead to a fire without proper fusing.

From the R-23 manual. The bilge pump is in the 24/7 fuse panel.
The 24/7 fuse block is
located in the mid cabin behind a removable panel secured with Velcro

It’s, fused, but no breaker. I have a different pump but same set up. Bypasses the battery switch. Always has power, as long as the batteries aren’t dead.
