Subject: Possible mod for R27/OB's furnace access & maintenance
The Webasto diesel fueled forced air heater unit is located behind the Microwave for the R27/OB. For the 2018 early builds the furnace's pump/filter is located adjacent to the furnace, whereas for later builds such as for the late 2018 and 2019 the furnace's pump/filter is located under the galley sink area offering a much easier access than on the early build R27/OB boats.
What can be done to make the pump/filter more accessible for the R27/OB's that have the pump/filter adjacent to the furnace unit ?
I've noted that on the R29S there's a cabinet door beneath the helm seat on the starboard side of the vertical fiber glass. I'm assuming this allows access to the R29S's furnace and presumably the pump/filter.
I shall remove the Microwave on my R27/OB to see where the furnace and pump/filter box is and to see behind the forward facing fiberglass to see how much can be removed for an access door/panel. If the clearances look good I will endeavor to cut a rectangle and place a door/panel over the exposed opening. This should then give great access to my R27/OB's furnace and pump/filter box.
