Hi! I am the proud owner of a 28 cutwater 2015. During a short cruise today, the propane alarm above the stove went off and stayed on( it is still on 8 hours later). I had a propane tank in the swim platform compartment, but the tank was not attached to the selenoid.. in fact we had not used propane yet this season . I have carefully checked the bilge and don’t see or smell anything wrong. I presume this is a false alarm but haven’t figured out how to stop the very annoying alarm... should I pull the one amp lpg breaker ? Should I try replacing the propane valve switch / alarm or the sensor first? Finally, where is the propane sensor ?

Thanks ! I hope someone from Ranger/Cutwater can help me solve this problem soon!

Since you do not have a tank hooked up i see no reason you could not turn off the breaker, wait one minute and then turn back on to see if it resets.

The sensors are known to go bad at times. There should be an in line fuse near the battery switches. The sensor is located below the stove in the back usually accessible through the door below the stove if you have one.

Thanks , Marty and knotflying! You helped me plan my next step.

Follow up: I use the space under the oven/stove for misc tools. I found the sensor on the aft bulkhead, sitting in 1 cm of standing water. I still don’t understand how the water got there; after drying out the space I ran water in the adjacent kitchen sink foe a while and could not reproduce the problem. There is a big rust spot under the sensor, but it stopped alarming. Should I replace it at this point? Could Andrew or someone at Cutwater give me the specs on the propane sensor so I can order one?
Thanks again!

If you contact parts@rangertugs.com Richard can get you taken care of for any replacement parts.

On the propane controller itself there is a mute button if the alarm ever goes off again. It's on the lower right of the controller.

KennyMarrs, thanks. I hit that mute alarm switch perhaps 100 times on my cruise. It gave me perhaps 20 seconds of silence before blaring at me again!

This question is for Andrew and the good folks that build and service the Cutwater 28. I have a new propane sensor, but how do I get access to install it! Iow, how do I pull out the stove/oven?
Thanks!

When I replaced mine I was able to reach in, remove the old one and cut the wires and connected the new one with butt connectors.
