I'm getting my boat ready for spring launch, and the kitchen sink faucet suddenly stopped running. The head sink faucet works fine....pump works fine. Nothing happens when I lift the faucet handle. Any thoughts on what might be the problem?

I would first remove the water intake lines where they connect to the faucet and see if you have water flow there. If you have water flow from the lines the problem is then in the faucet. I experienced decreasing water flow on the hot water side. At the SW FL Rendezvous Knotflying and myself removed and disassembled the faucet. What we found is that there is a fine mesh screen inside each of the brass fittings that the water lines connect to. The screens were clogged with debris that made it past the pump filter. The screens were removed and water flow was restored. There is a screen in the faucet head also to check.

How do you disconnect the water line to the faucet...above or below the counter? It's hard to see anything under the counter/ behind the sink.

There will be a hose clamp on each line under the counter behind the sink. They are not easy to access, you may have to use a mirror inside the cabinet. Make sure the hoses don't fall through the hole and then end up behind the counter.

I hope you first tried to clear the small screen that unscrews at the faucet outflow before you take anything apart. That being said, if there is debris in there then it would be likely that there is debris in the other screens as well. This was the case with my boat, R25SC. Good luck.

Aw geez....between my fake knees, torn rotator cuff and lousy eye site......I just knew you were going to tell me I need a freaking mirror. Maybe my girlfriend (slightly younger) is up to the task. Thanks guys.

As a first step you should dismantle the spray head to check for clogged screens in the head. If you are in luck clearing these screens will solve the problem. If not, the next step is to detach the spray head hose at the point this hose attaches to an under sink copper pipe. Under the sink there are three copper pipes, one attached to each of the hot and cold lines and the third, the one you need to detach, which feeds the hot/cold blended water up to the spray head. The connection is a brass sleeve held the copper tube's fitting by a small Phillips screw. Reaching this connection is more than a bit awkward and generally requires the use of a mirror to see what needs to be done. The screw should be loosened but not removed. Removing the screw generally results in the screw being dropped and possibly lost. In the freed end of the spray had hose will see a small anti-backflow valve. This valve is prone to becoming clogged. I removed this valve and chucked it. Prior to reassembly be sure that the O-ring seal for the fitting is still in place.

I have the same faucet in my Sea Ray 240DA and had the screen in the aerator clog so bad that it literally blew the faucet head apart, just from the 12 volt pump pressure. Had to buy an entire new faucet to get the head replacement for just over $100. after that I took out the screen in the aerator and life has been good. When I take delivery of our new Ranger Tug in a few months I think removing the screen may be my first act of customization.

Phil,
Go the easiest route first.
1) disconnect the flex hose from the head and turn the faucet on (point hose into sink  ) if water runs fine, it is either the screen at the washer where you just removed the hose or the screen at the aerator. If water is slow from hose then....
2) disconnect flex hose that connects to faucet below sink. You can do this by feel and just loosen small Philips screw enough to slip hose off. There may be a check valve in the hose end. Remove it and thro it away. Reassemble and turn water back on and see if you have no flow. If not then......
3) There may be screens (not all tugs have them) in the supply hoses to the faucet on hot and cold side. Follow process as explained by Brian B. After that I can't see what else will cause your issue.
Let us know how it works out.
Mike Rizzo

All fixed. It was the screen at the washer.....thank goodness. Thanks to all.
