R23 Holding Tank Access

I have a 2017 R23 and am trying to trace foul odors coming from the holding tank or its plumbing. The odor is strongest when standing at the helm of all places.

Does anyone have information on how to access the black water tank and its connecting hoses……pictures would be great. Any assistance appreciated.

The culprit I have found to odors is if you pump seawater into the tank and it has sat for awhile. Bad sulphuric smell. You need to flush your through-hull strainer with fresh water and into the tank, then discharge. I’d start there. Otherwise, the manual has the general schematic of your tank and plumbing.

Hamster, Thank you for the suggestions. I still would like to know how to access the connections….I see the black water tank is the forward most tank of the three. Thinking some access may be had behind the large wood panel in the head…..

I don’t recall seeing the black water plumbing behind the wood panel. I’ve taken that panel out. You get good access to the electronics from your dash there. To take that panel out, you need to remove the shelf bars above the head. Good luck.
