Rear Window Struts

Does anyone have the specs for the two struts used in opening/closing the rear window of the Cutwater 30?

I don't have your answer - but in the auto world, I have had luck with googling the numbers printed on the side of the existing strut to find replacements.
I assume you are looking for replacements.

I have had good luck with measuring the old one and ordering a replacement from Amazon or other online suppliers, usually about $25-$30 for a set. Have replaced them on tool boxes, auto's and RV's.
Just a note: most are measured and ordered from the fully extended position. Bob

Unfortunately my catalogue isn't specific, but I am pretty sure they are the Newport Engineering 26.3 inch springs, 90lbs. Part number SE263P-90. As already mentioned, you can cross reference that number on the side of the strut and also measure it from the extended position. Hope this helps.

Thanks guys. Unfortunately, no markings on the struts to verify what they are. The 90 lbs sounds about right for capacity. I will measure the extended length after removing and go from there.

Summer wind, Just a side note: sometimes the after market ones that I've ordered will have different mounting hardware. The easiest is to unscrew the old mounting hardware and swap out on the new struts. So don't discard the old ones until you check the mounting of the new/replacements.

Let me follow up for future reference, anyone else with this problem. I replaced the struts with 26.34" x 85 lbs automotive struts from Amazon, cost under $30. Replacements work perfectly. As Bob mentioned above, you may have to use the old strut ends (sockets) since most auto struts use 13mm balls and most marine applications use 10mm balls. If you need to replace the sockets, I found affordable replacements from Grainger for a couple bucks each. Problem solved, and thanks again for the help everyone gave.
