My wife, Sandy, and I want to thank Andrew Custis and Kenny Marrs for all the time they spent with us and the knowledge and enthusiasm they showed for the Ranger fleet. With their help, we made a deposit on an R-27, and we are excited about the adventures ahead. Thanks, guys, for a great time at your exhibit! 😀

Congrats on the new boat! You have made a wise choice, indeed!

My wife and I flew up from California for opening night of the Boat Show. Andrew, Kenny, Ivan, Jeff, David, Sara, and the rest of the Ranger Tug folks are a delight to visit with. It is something more than good service with these boats. You are part of a community supported by smart, talented, responsive and friendly staff that back a superior product. We could not be more pleased with our choice to join the Ranger Tug "cult" three years ago. And we adore our 27 as you will too.

We went up to sit in the new 29S and to hang out with the Ranger Tug staff. Not to hijack the thread, but the new 29 is a terrific boat. We loved it. It is decidedly not a traditional tug, having more in common with the Cutwater line than the Ranger Tug line (for proof, if you are at the show, walk through the 29 and then stroll over and walk through the Cutwater 30). This is why I called it a Tugwater in an earlier post. Still, this boat is going to be a hit. I have no doubts about it. We will eventually move up into this boat, but are in no hurry (and are waiting to see the command bridge version).

Enjoy!

Hydraulicjump,

Did you take any photos? I'm nervous the new 29 won't be at the LA boat show next month. Does the deck space appear to be the same or larger when compared to the older 29 model?

Mary and I also want to thank all the staff (especially Andrew, Kenny and Jeff) at the Show for all the time they spent with us helping us decide. We made a deal on the R-25SC show model and are looking forward to delivery after the snow and ice are gone here in South Dakota. We are looking forward to lots of days on the Missouri River lakes and eventually a Great Loop!

I'm not sure about the actual dimensions, but in terms of practical usage the space seems larger. The fold-out cockpit seating and the rear-opening cabin bulkhead and reversible dinette seating really open things up.

You can get a good sense for the layout on the virtual tour on the Ranger Tug website.

Cheers,

Bruce

Thanks Bruce...Does anyone know if a 29S will debut at any of the boat shows in southern ca this year? I'm really impressed from what I see online and I like the boat's price point a lot better than the 31.

I'll start a new thread on this. I don't want to deflect from Tom and Sandy's new found R-27 bliss. Again, congrats to you both. You bought a great boat. I still think it is the best-looking, best proportioned of the Ranger Tug line. And, as you are soon to find out, everyone thinks it's "cute", which is why we named ours Tugnacious.

I'm surprised no one has commented on the Cutwater 19 foot. What a great entry to the Ranger family of boats - at $99,000 it's one of the best I've seen. And with options of Inboard or Outboard engines it opens up a lot of possibilities......

I take it you are referring to the Cutwater 24? Yes, a whole new market I would say, more what I would be looking for in the near term. Can't wait to see how it tests out, new hull design so hope it isn't so bow high like the 26.

Ah yes Tom, the dynamic duo of Andrew and Kenny have an infallible nose for boat fever and the cure. .

We went to the show with the intent of buying a C28 but the C24 did give us pause. Looks to be a great boat for the price and would have run us $80k less then the C28. At the end of the day we decided to stick with the decision to buy the C28 but it amazes my how much boat you get for the money with the new C24.
