Not sure if this is the way to deal with this issue or not, but here goes.. I took delivery of my new Cutwater 30le cb on Weds. it was delivered close to empty so we put in 180 gal. at the gas station before launching(I filled my diesel dump truck there 2 days prior w/ no issues). I put about 7 hrs on the engine that day and a couple more the next. Yesterday the Garmin said there was a sensor issue when it started, then the Volvo readout stated there was "water in the fuel". I followed the directions in the Volvo manual and drained about 4 oz. of what appeared to be clean diesel out of the water separator. I ran the boat about 5 hours Sat. w/ no apparent ill effects(I didn't run the generator just in case). The "water in fuel" light is still on at the Volvo read out. The dealer is about 300 mi away (Hamlin's in Bangor, Maine). Any Advice? Can I still run the engine? Drain separator again? Does it need a new sensor? Add an additive? Thanks, Phil

I have a cw30 and find the engine warnings do not reset unless you power off all batteries. Try turning the battery switches to off for 30 seconds then see what you get. I had the same water in fuel message, this erased the fault message. It was a false alarm.

Kip is correct, the warnings will not erase unless the batteries are shut off with the ignition on engine not running, This allows the ECM to reset and clear the codes.
If this does not work please feel free to contact me and I can walk you thru a few other items to try and clear the issue codes.
Also please check and make sure there is no water in the fuel at the sensor

Thanks Kip and Ron, I will give that a shot and reply back

We got the "Water in Fuel" warning at the start of our trip to Friday Harbor on Saturday morning. I immediately shut down and drained a bit of fuel from the bottom of both filters. I did not find any signs of water but did find tiny bits of white plastic in the primary filter (the bulkhead mounted filter without the sensor). I assume this is left over manufacturing bits. Put it all back together and started back up with no error message. Ran all day to Friday Harbor and back to Oak Harbor at 16 knots with no problems.

Having just read this post a few weeks before helped me have confidence the problem would be easily solved. Thanks all!
