While on a mooring over the weekend in Edgartown MA all seemed to be going well until I started the generator and turned on the 2 AC's and a coffee machine at the salon outlet. Smoke filled the cabin. I grabbed a fire extinquisher, called my bro-law over who was rafted next to us and we quickly identified the source of the smoke before flames ignited. The inside of the main breaker panel switch, Blue Sea Systems, was clearly burnt and melted and some breakers discolored. I am not sure what the extent of the damage is yet. I turned off all AC power. I suspect the shore power, generator power and inverter may be inoperable.
The boat, 2018 Cutwater 30 Sedan LE, is 2 months old and I thought through what I did differently than past jaunts. I used the electric cook top for the first time the day before. Everything else has been tried and used including the cockpit electric grill.
Has anyone experienced this before?
