I contacted the Cutwater Customer Service asking about where I could get Square Head Screws so I do not have different screws on our boar for replacement.

The gave me this website: https://www.fastenal.com/product/fasten ... anded=true

The had great prices and shipped them and I received them in three days.

Great service for getting square head screws like the ones used on our Cutwater 26.

FYI they are called Robertson screws and were invented in Milton Ontario Canada.

Another good source for Robertson screws (SQ Head) is McFeelys.com. Been buying from them for years and there articles are quite helpful and prices very good.

Generally the answer is "yes" but bear in mind that the Robertson head provides the highest level of torque transmission. What that means in simple terms is that you are less likely to chew up the screw head, particularly if you are using an electric screwdriver or a drill as a driver. On our R25SC there are few screws that are removed and replaced each year as part of the maintenance process and I wouldn't replace any of those with Phillips or flat. Chewing up a screw head and then having to drill out the screw is not fun.

Hope this helps

just recently had to remove a screw (square head) that had never been removed. The square head was all stripped so rather then drilling it out I used the tiny cutting wheel on a dremel tool. Cut a slot on the screw, was then able to remove with a regular screwdriver.

Thank you both for the comments.
