2021 RT 25 LE start battery fuse to AC to DC charger is blowing. What is the reason and how to fix?

I’ll need a few more details, please. Could you let me know the following?
  • The location of the blown fuse
  • The size (amperage) of the fuse
  • Whether anything was operating or happened at the time the fuse blew
This information will help narrow down the cause.

Thanks Jared,
The fuse location is on the battery post of the start battery. I don’t have the fuse in front of me now but I believe it’s 75amp.

I bought this boat early last year. When testing battery voltage last year I discovered voltage wasn’t going through the fuse then but it really didn’t concern me much.. I thought the fuse was a switch of some kind since I’d never seen a fuse like that.

I recently realized it was a fuse. I replaced it several days ago and it carried voltage just fine. I have been checking the start battery often since it loses voltage and I have to use the parallel switch to start the engine if the engine hasn’t been run in a couple of months. The battery may have lower voltage even before the two months.

I’ve checked the voltage of the start battery nearly daily for the past two weeks. The fuse was good. Yesterday, I again checked the battery voltage and discovered the fuse had blown. This was found upon first arriving at the boat. The only thing I can think of that I had done differently was maybe the day before I was experimenting with how many amp hours it would take from house bank to increase low voltage on the start battery by using the inverter. I might have did this for an hour. I don’t have plans to do this again especially with the better option of the parallel switch. I was just experimenting and learning the boat.

In looking at the schematic, I think this wire in question goes behind the mounting board to the battery charger. However, even with the blown fuse, the starter battery gets a 14v charge when using shore power with the battery charger on. Does this charge come from a ACR?

Dan

I attached photo files on my first message to you but I don’t think they came through.
