Sunshade for Cutwater 32C

Hello all!

We recently took delivery of our new 32C and we are loving it. As we are exploring there are a few questions we have:

1). Does the lazarette directly under the grill on the cockpit open for access to the rear of the generator? There is a latch that is not engaged below, however we can not open the cover. Is it supposed to open?

2). We have a huge sunshade that is evidently an extension of the small shade over the cockpit. Would it be possible for someone to post a picture of it deployed? We cannot figure out how it is supposed to attach, where it goes, etc. and would love to solve that mystery.

Hi there!

Hopefully here are some answers to your questions.

1) Yes, you can lift that cover under the aft seat out so you can get access to the generator and transom wiring. Just lift the forward edge up so it starts to rotate, then lift the piece straight up by each side and slide it forward.

2) Sorry that I don't have a pic of this at the moment, but you should have two poles that go each into the rod holder at the end of either cockpit coaming. The sunshade then slides with the piping into the track that goes around the perimeter of the cockpit overhang. You then have a lanyard on each aft corner of the sunshade that gets threaded through the loops on each support pole and tightened on the little cleat on the side of each pole. I will try to get a pic of this and post it for you.

Hi Ralf and thanks for your answers. We have the small sunshade with the place for the rigid portion to fit into the rail up. We also have another sunshade that is approximately 4.5 feet wide and 10 feet long. The second piece is what we are trying to figure out. Any help would be appreciated.

Opening the lazarette required leg power to move it to the left enough to clear the restraining portion, but we got it open.
