Today I was using my stern thruster and suddenly it stopped working. When you push the stick either left or right, the led light flashes and if you are in the cockpit, you can barely hear a flickering sound, so obviously is not a broken shear pin.

Bow thruster is fine.

Any ideas?

When mine stopped working this summer it was a blown fuse .
The thruster still made a noise when I tried to activate it.
They are anl tyype 150 amp. I’m not sure where they are located on your tug.
I have a c28

ok , on the aft bulkhead where battery switch’s are
In the entry to quarter berth is a removable panel.
Remove that, mine are located up high. They are well marked.
The fuse is proprietary to defender but generic can be made to work until you can get the correct ones.
Let me know if that is what it was.

also check the fuse on the thruster battery terminal itself

I think it can’t be, because the bow thruster won’t work also.

Hello,

If both thrusters are inop, the only thing common is the battery and grounding. What is your current battery voltage on your thruster battery and at each thruster unit?

Thank you,

Aren’t the control sticks powered too. I thought they get power from one thruster only. There some push buttons to enable the system. If the lights don’t come on then there is no power to all thrusters. Backtracking needed in case there is some inline fuse for he electronics in the panel

If one follows the troubleshooting guide you will find the problem. Just follow the sequence , some of what is stated here and you will find the problem.

Bow works. Stern doesn’t
