Is there a preparation for winterizing thrusters on on my 27' trawler ?

The only thing I’ve done is cleaning the propeller and housing of any barnacles, but that could also be done in the spring.

Ditto. I also remove the props to take home, clean and paint for the next season and make cleaning the barnacles easier on the drive leg and housing. I like taking them off sooner rather than later when I suspect it may be easier. On my 2012 R27 the Sidepower props come off with a 1/2" socket and a piece of wood to hold the prop from spinning. For completeness you can also remove the zincs with a 5/32 Allen key. Gary

I remove the props in the spring too. Clean them and paint them. I put a small amount of grease on the shafts before reattaching them so they remain easy to remove. I've changed them in the water as well when debris has striped them. Just anchored in shallow water and used a socket wrench and screwdriver or piece of wood.

Not sure what model you have (mine is an SE series), but I made a 3d printable replacement prop for mine as well: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4356723

That's cool. Do you have the 3d printer yourself or do you order it on thingiverse? How was the spec or digital model made so it can be 3d printed? Printer cost? Order from thingiverse cost? I'd love to hear all about it. Gary
