I have a 2015 2500Hd I bought new. It has the gas 6.0 It tows my 25 SC, fifth wheel and anything else I hook to it with ease. I normally trade every 3 years or so but GM was coming out with a 6.6 gas that had lots of promise so I waited, then covid hit. In April I ordered a new 2500HD with the 6.6 gas 401 HP 464 lbs ft of torque. I'm still waiting. GM has finally picked up my order so it will be built. The dealer is saying look for March/April that will be one year. The only reason I bit the bullet they kept making me offers on my pristine 2015 with 88k. They gave me more than 3/4 what I paid 7 years ago, and it was time. I'm a contractor, had a CDL for 45 years. I use the truck. I pull job trailers, haul lumber, pull a fifth wheel with RZR in tow. Haul a TC, dump trailer, JD tractor etc. IMO most people do not need diesel. I sure don't. The new diesel are emission choked time bombs waiting to implode. My neighbor hauls RVs for a living, he is on 4 trucks in 2 years GM and Dodge. He says he won't buy a ford. The new gas trucks have plenty of power and get decent fuel economy. They are reliable. My 15 has only had oil changes. If someone is going to do like Jim here and haul a heavy boat over the mountians down to AZ, FL, all over the country. A diesel might make sense. If your'e going to Florida once a year get a gas and spend that 10k on some other toys. I just hope my new one gets here before I need new tires, they are factory original.
