My transducer in my 2018 Cutwater 24 is not working. Where is it located and what brand was used? I understand they can be low on a liquid. What liquid is used and how is it added?

It’s under the step going into the V birth where you stand to shower. Access door is in front of the step. Could be low on fluid or it could have come loose from the floor. Pretty hard to get to as the shower sump and bildge pump are there. KKRCRACE

Sorry, not sure of brand but mine has I believe 8 very small screws which hold the top on. Remove top and fill with red or RV type antifreeze. Check the small O ring before putting the top on.

Just found this thread and sorry for reviving an old thread. I have a cutwater 24 coupe (just purchased used) and my Garmin 76xx will not recognize any depth/sonar device. Can you help with the location of the thru hull? I read your posts re: under the companionway step by shower sump pump. Is it the large white box behind the johnson sump pump? If so, how the heck do you access the top of that thing?

On my 2018 C 24 it’s black and and about 2.5 inches in diameter to the left when you open the door on the step down to the shower. That is also where the shower sump box and the front bilge pump is located. I have to have my wife help me with the tiny screws that hold the top on as my big hands will not fit. You could be low on fluid or it could have come lose from the hull and will need to be rebonded which happened on my boat. Also when you take the top off check for small o ring.

If I ever have to replace the shower sump box I’m going to cut the top of the step out and make a large access panel in order to service the three items below the step. I don’t think you can get the shower sump box out without removing the Transducer and the Bilge pump.

The transducer in my C-24, 2020 is a GT 15M IH ( IH for intrahull). If your transducer not work or your Garmin don't reconized it, Costumer Service for Garmin is very helpful. You will find goods videos in YouTube about installing.

Thanks for your help with this. I am betting my transducer housing came loose because I was able to slightly move a black cylindrical thing to get a better look at the big white box the other day. Stuff is really packed in there.

Based on the feedback I received here, I was able to find, re-seat and re-fill my transducer housing and now I have working depth/sonar. Thanks to all.
