Please would you let me know the sonar transducer location on the C30, and if there are any special instructions on access?

Thanks.

I don't know where the transducer is, but when I had trouble with depth, I found that the depth limits on the instruments were set wrong. Once i reset them, everything worked great. Sorry, I don't remember what I did. It was in the books.

Turns out the transducer is below the front starboard side of the engine. Nearly impossible to work on. I installed a new transducer below the floor of the cave, mid ships. All is well now. The original transducer likely fried as it was not installed in a pot of antifreeze, per Garmin, so it had inadequate cooling. It was simply adhered to the floor of the boat. The new transducer is installed in a pot of antifreeze.

My depth gauge on my Cutwater 30, stopped working a couple of weeks ago and all it needed was a little RV anti-freeze. Like mentioned, it was a challenge getting to the transducer but not impossible. It's a little white square cover under the forward part of engine. Believe the cover is secured by two screws. Remove cover and you will see top of transducer. It didn't take much but has been working since.

Thanks Nancyandbobby.

Andrew Custis and I spoke. He advised the relocation as it was his recollection that my 2014 C30 did not have the pot transducer, it was glued to the hull. They had also devised the relocation plan which they had said was used successfully on other C30's. The boats are now using the pots and also the transducer has been moved for easier access.

By the way, my hull number is 3017. Is yours a later date or earlier?

Maybe one ambitious day I'll figure out how to make a super long extension screwdriver and peek.

Thanks for your help and congratulations on your ICW journey! We boated from Annapolis to Punta Gorda last year and enjoyed it immensely.

I have a 2015 Cutwater 30 LE and yes I did make a long screwdriver and had one of my friends standby in case my upper body got stuck in engine as I went in head first. For a few minutes all you could see were my two legs sticking out of engine. Should have taken a pic.
