what can be done to make our 2020 R27OB clear 8t bridges???
Thanks, Paul
Thanks, Paul
If it’s even possible, you would probably have to lose the radar and mast at least. Solar panels, side navigation lights, and the “smokestack” would be hard to remove. We can get under a 10’ bridge in our R27 OB but that’s with the mast and antennas folded and I believe our air draft is about 9.5 feet (in fresh water). Full fuel and water might gain a little more air draft. Maybe somebody has tried to determine the minimum air draft possible for that boat and will share their research.
The most recent YouTube video from Salty Mittens talks about how they reduced their air draft for transiting some canals in Montreal. Folding the mast and removing the radar was what they did to achieve a 8’ bridge clearance. Should be fairly straightforward except for finding a place to store the radar.what can be done to make our 2020 R27OB clear 8t bridges???

I rechecked our air draft on our R27 and with the mast and antenna down we are at about 8.5’ (in fresh water). With the radar off you should be good.what can be done to make our 2020 R27OB clear 8t bridges???

will definitely try this, as the Lachine Canal opens a diferent playgroung, without the nuisance of commercial locks. I have tried to connect WITH Salty Mittens; how excatly can i do that? The most recent YouTube video from Salty Mittens talks about how they reduced their air draft for transiting some canals in Montreal.
