VHS antenna installation...help!

Hi! My vhs antenna broke this off season. I purchased a new one ( with a new Mount) but I am having trouble with the installation. There is a long fiberglass cowling over the cable run ( it also covers an led light strip) which won’t come off. I have of course removed screws, including two from the starboard nav light, and removed the front starboard hand railing. However it still won’t budge, seems to be sealed well ( too well, for my book!) I have been prying at it for a while without any progress other that chipping the cowling itself. Can you guys suggest something for my ❤️Cut water 28 2015? Thanks !

I snapped mine off hitting a low branch over a street in Bellingham with the antenna down. Antenna cable run in our boat was really secured.
Ended up using the existing cable run up to just before it left the inside of the cabin. Used a marine grade male BNC connector at the cabin side of the old cable, running the new antenna cable through the cabin opening and putting the female BNC connector on the new cable end to complete the run. Left a bit extra of new cable as a service loop before the connector. This way if the antenna ever breaks or fails again I can replace it at the BNC connector in just a few minutes!

Can you find a different way or path to run the cable? 😉

Have you tried a bit of heat? I would start with a hair dryer and slowly move up to a variable heat gun.

There might be years of dirt/grime or even some sealant, that prevent the two surfaces from separating.
