Victron VRM access

I just took possession of my 2025 Ranger 27 today. Love it. I can see the batteries fine when I'm on board if my bluetooth is connected. But now I'm trying to connect with the VRM. I found the 12-digit, entered it following the steps at https://vrm.victronenergy.com/add-installation, but the error I get is that it needs to be connected to the internet (I assume the device itself). The errors reads:
Please ensure the GX device is connected to the Internet.

The installation with the specified VRM Portal ID or IMEI could not be found.

I will try again tomorrow, but I am inferring from this that the actual unit needs to be connected to the internet. That's a tall order, it seems, especially, when I don't even know there the unit is or what cable would be needed. I hope I am missing something simple.

The Victron unit we install in the boats is Bluetooth-only and does not have internet access. You would need to have a cellular device installed that connects to your Victron system in order to provide internet access, similar to the one shown below.
