My dilemma. Boat is moored with starboard side along the dock. Water from the A/C Heater and dehumidifier discharge on the starboard side, thus when systems are running, the discharged water hits the dock and splashes back on the boat. While not a hazard or safety issue, I can't imagine 4-5 months of splash back being good for the finish.

There is one real easy fix. Back into the slip so water discharges away from the dock. However, we like having the aft deck facing the harbor rather than the dock. So this is not a preferred solution.

Is there some material that could be attached to the dock that will absorb the discharge water and prevent back splash? I tried 3" memory foam, failed that splash test.

Is there something else that might work?

moor further from the dock? bigger fender?

short piece of pipe attached to drain hole that routes down between dock and boat?

bucket with drain hole on dock. bucket stops splashing as water hits bottom of bucket and splashes hit sidewall of bucket then drain out through bottom?

I have on occasion hung a fender in front of the discharge. Most times to quiet the noise for a neighbor but will also fix your issue

Partial success.
2" thick egg crate type foam, wrapped with two layers of nylon window screen. 24"x12". Eliminated 80-85% of back splash. I found out that rather than laying the piece flat against the dock (hills and valleys of foam facing boat) if i fold into "V's" and have the hills and valleys of the V's facing the boat it reduces back splash almost 95%. 😀
