Yesterday, I posted a version of this message on the Ranger Tug Technical Discussion page and one of those who responded suggested I contact the factory for help. So here goes.....
For a couple of months of winter layup in the water, we have removed the Sunbrella cockpit cover to give the cover a break from possible UV damage.
Yesterday we had strong winds and rain from the West (the direction our stern faces in the slip) and today I discovered some pooling water in the cabin. In the absence of the cockpit cover, the rain seems to have made its way into the boat around the edges of the door frame.
I suspect most of the water entered the boat by means of the top edge of the cabin door and am wondering:
a) if this is normal for a 2024 R27 outboard; and
b) what if anything you would suggest I try to keep the water out.
I do note that I need to press in on the door to lock it, suggesting that the door may not fit snugly in the door frame.
Thank in advance for any help or suggestions you can offer.
