We need a Southern California Island Catalina Rendezvous!

Much appreciated! Marina Del Ray is a bit of a long shot although they are trying to find some info that might help. Having had my truck broken into hoping to minimize this exposure to the extent possible as well.

We will be in Two Harbors Sept 5-9.....My experience is that getting a can over the weekend is not bad if you get there early on Friday, such as before 1000.....Friday afternoon arrival is iffy.....Leaving Harbor Island (San Diego) at 0630 Friday and expect Two Harbors by 1000 or so......Count me in for a rendezvous any time at Catalina.....

Thanks for the info. I tried them and they have an extensive waitlist and unable to accomodate. So far it seems finding slips and reservations on Catalina are no too bad. Truck and trailer parking is becoming a challenge.
Nice to see some rekindled interest in a Catalina trip. I can help organize a trip. October is a perfect time to visit Catalina for many reasons. I keep my RT25c in a slip at Dana Point. It should be easy to get guest slips here and our two little free anchorages. FYI Long Beach to Dana Point is about 22 nautical miles. We live in San Clemente about 10 minutes from Dana Point and have a really long driveway available for Ranger Tugs and/or their trailers, free short term. Cutwaters stocked with beers to be considered on a case by case basis. No more excuses lets pick a weekend in October and do this. Craig and Jeannie Fransen (craigfransen545@gmail.com)

That would be great. The ramp has a seven day max limit. Apparently the city has a longer space lease program next to it so waiting for a call back to see if there is any options there.

Logisticaly we were trying to stay on the Northern side of LA to catch up with some friends on the backside. However, if I need to go further south to make all of this work we certainly can do it.

Eagle II is in! We have a mooring in Avalon, I’m bringing the boat over tommorrow and will leave it there the rest of summerIMG_4973.jpeg

what a great mooring! would you ever rent it out when not in use? Beautiful boat too.

I'm gonna pass on the 85 miles to Catalina in my R21... but I'm currently putting together a Ranger Tug group in San Diego for the Nov 3rd Vet's Day Parade and possible anchor-outs in the area. So far I'm in contact with five people in just a few days... Any interested folks reach out on this forum. Cutwater owners? Sure. Why the heck not?

Okay we are getting close. Good tip on Sunset Aquatic Marina (at least on paper). We are just awaiting confirmation on dates and hopefully good to go

For anyone trailering to So Cal looking for trailer parking and a guest slip, don’t bother looking a marinas around the Marina Del Ray, Long Beach, Huntington etc.Having literally worked my way south down the coast talking with each Marina the winner turns out to be Dana Point. It looks like Newport could have been an option as well but Dana Point was much more accommodating, better options for long term parking and less expensive. It’s only 5 NM further to Catalina as well. Finally we are all set so maybe we will run into a few folks out at Catalina.

So glad you made it! How long will you be in Catalina. Not sure we can make it, but if you end of in King Harbor, Redondo Beach, Let us know. We will meet you for dinner!!! We are members of the King Harbor Yacht Club. We have a big guest dock.
Have fun.

We are departing NorCal Oct 4th, heading to Catalina morning of the 6th. Plan is to come back to Dana Point the 17th.

We could possibly come out the weekend of October 10! Keep us posted.

Cool! Well it sounds like we might have the makings for a gathering
