Weaver Davit part number and mounting directions

VERY interested to see how you get on with the Dhyer Dhow on the C28. I almost went this route.

I think* the placement is more to do with the appropriate alignment to the shape of the Dinghys Gunwhale than a specific spot as long as you miss the other stuff on the swim platform and space them far enough apart that they provide a balanced lift to the Dinghy.
Too far out the dinghy tends to curl away at the ends - essentially lowering the overall height of the dinghy went mounted
Too far in the middle and its not as stable.

you might want to check out the weaver davits used on the portland pudgy as they are raised for the unique gunwhale; they might work well on the Dhyer.

also dont be afraid to consider offsetting the dinghy. as due to the bow potentially tapering in more than the stern you might be able to let it over hang more on one side of the cutwater as the height of the dinghies bow will more likely clear the dock than the stern.
at 9foot you are going to have to play with this a little due to the overhang.

I mounted a 8' 10" RIB on my C26. I offset the dingy on the platform 2" off center to Starboard. I have the dingy's stern on port side of C26 (standard location). Reason for offset. The C26 and C28 develops a spray from the offsets at the chine, stern of the boat( location of exhaust thru hull) . This spray increases with speed and will hit the dingy. The transom of the dingy sits lower then the bow when mounted on the platform using Weaver davit system. The offset locates the dingy transom in and away from the majority of the spray on port side. Just forward of midship to bow the dingy's beam dimension decreases reducing the area for the spray to hit the bow of dingy. The bow section rides higher then stern reducing area that the spray hits the dingy. I still get spray but it is marginal the only way to completely eliminate this is a dingy 8' long. I used 4" weaver offsets which is the standard for Ranger and Cutwaters. Weaver does offer 6" offsets for rigid hull boats. I would use the 6", this will also help with the spray.

Location of RIB mounted on platform, my C26. Port side of C26 at transom ( RIB's Transom 2" out from side of hull ) Starboard of C26 transom (Ribs Bow 7" out from side Hull). I measured C26 transom width 8'1". The bow of the Rib does get hit by spray when running at a fast cruise 16KT + when cruising in rougher seas it is marginal. If I have my dingy's mooring cover on the spray deflects down dingy really no issue. The stern section of the RIB tubes does not. If I raised the RIB up 2" more it would eliminate the spray from hitting the Rib. The dingy does over hang on the Starboard but has not been an issue when docking or going through Locks. Here are a couple pictures showing the over hang.

Starboard side overhang 7", notice the elevation of the bow. A few inches higher it would be clear of spray. I believe the shape of the Dhyer help and spray reduced

Port side over hang 2" notice the elevation of the stern tube much lower then bow. If this was hanging over more it would be in direct line of the spray. The dingy gets hit by very little spray.

Notes:
I did not use factory installation locations for davit base to swim platform. I did use stainless steel backing plates under swim platform . If you can purchase the Weaver parts needed through Defender do so. The price will be cheaper then purchasing through Weaver industries. Weaver charges suggested retail price for all parts. Defender discounts the Price. If you are interested I can Message you the exact dimension location of my davits.
