I watched your “As the Prop Turns” winterizing video and I thought it was really well done! I have a 2021 C28 and the configuration of some systems is different than what is shown in my owners manual, so I have a few questions:
1. I don’t see a sea strainer for the BW system. It has its own through hull and sea cock, separate from the the sea cocks and strainers for both the engine and the wash down system.
-Does it have sea strainer that I am not seeing?
-If not, how do I get my RV antifreeze Into the lines that lead from the raw water inlet to the head?
2. There is a multi port sea strainer which supplies the wash down system. My manual shows this sea strainer supplying the engine, the BW system and the wash down system.
-Is there a reason why the BW system is no longer supplied with raw water through this sea strainer and now has its own dedicated through hull?
-Would it make sense for me to plumb my BW system to this sea strainer so that I have ready access point to input the RV antifreeze for both the BW and washdown systems?
3. I have filled and pumped the BW tank out several times to clean it in prep for winterizing. I note that regardless of whether or not I have it pumped out at a pump out station or pump it out with the macerator that there is always about 3 inches of fluid in the bottom of the tank.
-Is this normal?
-Once I have “clean”water in the BW tank how much pink should I add?
4. The drain valve for my HW tank is only about an inch above the bottom of the stbd cockpit locker. There is not enough space to attach a hose and even if I could get a hose attached I could not route the hose into the bilge to let it drain.
- Can I crack this valve open and let it bleed out into the locker and find its way into the bilge?
-Do I need to open the system anywhere else to allow it to vent while it drains?
-how do I get pink into the hw tank once it is drained?
5. How do I access my fw pump?
Thanks
