On our Cutwater 28 (2012) we removed the 2 buckhead panels accessed thru the fuel tank trap door, immediately inside the main cabin door. Still difficult to get at the pump, so we removed the step down into the quarter berth. Very easy to et at the pump while lying on your stomach. The stretch fit belt just kind of rolled off. But one of the bolts on the pump's front plate would not budge, so we removed the pump. At the home shop we used Deep Creep for 2 days, then propane torch, followed by ice cubes, then more torch heat and ice cubes. Finally an impact gun with the right torx head shook loose the stripped out allen head bolt. The new impeller went back in with the help of an electric zip tie holding the vanes flat. Some lubricant on the vanes, never seize on the bolts, and we turned our attention the remounting the pump. Man is it ever hard to turn over the 6BY2 by hand. We tried 30mm, 1 1/4 sockets, could not turn over engine. From a comment on Youtube on replacing stretch fit belts, we got it on with a light duty electric zip strap, and my good partner hitting the starter key for a second. She found she could get a 1/4 turn on the engine by turning the key, and immediately pulling her hand off to let the spring return of the starter key do its work. She catches fish too. I love her.
If someone could tell me how to post pictures to these posting I could show a photo.
