A Northwest Ranger Rendezvous?

I believe that we have settled on BREMERTON as the place.

We need to establish the weekend. Is Bremerton a Pre-July 4th or Post-Labor Day Event?

Any volunteers on learning from the Bremerton folks on their availability? I am feeling that we have at least 6 boats there.

We'd love to make the rendezvous if our schedule allows. Have you eliminated July 5 - September 3?

We vote September 12th and 13th. I would be willing to coordinate with the Bremerton City Marina.

😀 the nataclue crew votes with dave from solitude, we would be trailering a great distance so our votes count more

Naut a clue,
I like the way you think! Towing a great distance should give you additional votes! We will be towing Solitude to the PNW Labor Day weekend (leaving Vegas Saturday morning). We will overnight in the Lake Shasta area and then finish the drive on Sunday morning. My wife will fly home Monday night as she has to be back to work on Tuesday morning. I will be staying on Solitude for the week since I will be working in the PNW that week. My wife flys back on Friday night the 11th. We start our two week PNW adventure on Saturday the 12th.

Anytime we can get together is a great time...Now I'm confused. Are there 2 events? 1 in Port Ludlow and 1 in Bremerton??? Or just Bremerton in Septemeber?

Dave, be happy to help. I work over there and can swing down almost daily to harrass the staff if needed. Just let me know.

Drew

Right now we have three votes for Bremerton.... that is if you are in Drew. Steve of Not a clue and the crew of Solitude vote Bremerton the weekend of the 12th of September.

Thanks,
David

R'Dragon is always up to meet some new friends. So, for me this works, although, we are planning to have the boat in Anacortes/La Conner/ Somewhere up north for most of the summer. Not sure if we will be back, but since it is "in the back yard" would still come to play!

So...Sounds like sept 12&13 in Brem, Wa????

David, you want me to make some inquiries? I can wait and just be local fixer as needed.

Look forward to meeting you soon!
Drew

Drew,
You can go ahead and make some inquires if you would like. I will be in the PNW in mid February and mid March and can do it then if you don't get the chance. Just let me know.

I will start making a list of those that are considering attending. Those of you that are considering please let me know. I know plans change so we will revise the attendees list at the year progresses.

Thanks
David

David, the C-Brats site has a signup place where people can do that. Maybe DaNerd will do one for the TugNuts? That makes it simple.

I was at the West Marine exhibit at SBS today. The man helping me, when he learned I had an R-25, told me how much he admired the boat, despite being a sailor. Turns out he's the manager of the Bremerton West Marine store. I told him we were considering a rendezvous there in mid-September. He said to contact him when the plans firm up and he'll find a way to contribute to the festivities.

Whoever is taking the lead on scheduling, shoot me a PM and I'll forward his contact info.

Cheers,

Bruce

Bruce,
Sent you a PM as well.
Thanks
David

I mentioned the idea of a NW Ranger Tug Rondezvous to John Livingston at the boat show last week and he was interested. Subsequently, I checked with the Port Ludlow marina manager and the weekend of September 11 -13 is available. It is my hope that such an event would be sponsored and supported by the company (mailings, seminars, prizes, sponsoring a meal, etc.). I then sent John an email and expect to hear from him next week after he and his crew recover from the show.
Denny
PS: Does anyone know how many Ranger Tugs there are in the NW?

Jeff at the factory knows how many tugs are in Puget Sound, but I am thinking about 20 to 30

Denny,
It appears that it has been decided to hold the rendevous in Bremerton.
Thanks,
David

So, we have decided:

Where: Bremerton

Pick the weekend, talk with the marina and put the word out!

Nice job everyone.

The Laurie Ann cannot commit at this point as we are planning our cruising adventures. We may be doing the Gulf Islands and Desolation Sound in May/June. Talking of trailering to the Chesapeake in June/July/August. We loved the Great Circle Loop and would like to pick it up again. After the Seattle Boat Show, I became enchanted with the Sea of Cortez-trailer from Tucson to San Carlos (about 8 hours) and spend two months. But Lake Mead and Lake Powell look awfully inviting! Retirement is really fun.

John and Laurie,
Our home waters are Lake Mead and Mohave. This weekend we cruised from Callville Bay to Temple Basin and back spending the night in a quiet little cove in Temple. This trip was just over fifty miles round trip! Mead is an incredible lake with fantastic views. If you ever get the chance to come down to Vegas, let me know. I would be more than happy to give you a brief tour of Mead.

Powell is even more incredible!

The rendezvous will be the 11th, 12th, and 13th of September at the Bremerton City Marina. I will contact the marina to check on availability.

I removed the last few posts as they were not at all in the spirit of what this site is about. Having fun! The Northwest Rendezvous sounds like it will be a lot of fun. This is not a factory organized event however in usual Ranger Tug fashion we will help support it in anyway that we can. I know that there may be some feelings hurt as to the location that has been chosen (the factory was not involved in that decision) however it is important to remember that it is all about having fun! No matter the location we will all have fun! We all look forward to seeing everyone in September.

Thank you,

Jeff

gosh jeff,, 17 hours and not a single post to this thread,, no disrespect intented [i mean that] but did you take a good look at the post that started,, what i can only describe as a spirited debate,, i hope that all of the effort that has been put into orginazing this gathering doesn't stop at the water's edge because a latecomer isn't happy.. in the spirit of the first amendment i hope you post this.. if not ,, we all look forward to meeting you and the rest of the ranger tug crew in sept.. respectfully yours, notaclue

Thanks Notaclue. No disrespect taken. You are absolutely correct. I should have been involved with this thread sooner. Regarding the removal of the posts. The "late comer" was actually one of the first ones to approach us at the Seattle Boat Show about putting on a NW Ranger Rendezvous. He is a great organizer and would be a huge asset to the planning of this event. I also know that he would not miss this event for anything. Now that we have a date and a location I would propose that we set up a committee to organize the event. I know that several of you have already done some preliminary work on this. Thank you. Could those folks please e-mail me and let me know what has been done to date. Would those folks that have an interest in helping organize the event also drop me an e-mail. As we finish our busy boat show schedule I look forward to being more available to help make the first ever Ranger Rendezvous a great event!

Thank you,

Jeff
