A Northwest Ranger Rendezvous?

Thanks for the update Drew, any other listed as possible, you have mentioned that you would like to make it but are not sure. Please update as we get closer to September.

If I could go off boating for the whole summer, I would do so like a few of you have. I keep telling my wife if she would only double her income, I could. You can only guess what the answer is to that.......

Pls add one more:
Zuma R-29 Lyman & Janeane Possible

The Laurie Ann is a definite-the admiral has spoken!

Also, the Rosborough group will be coming at the same time and place with a possibility of ten boats. This is a great group of very nice people. We know, because we often boat with the organizer of this event for them.

Gill and I are complete newcomers to this forum and TugNuts. I placed a deposit for our MY2010 R-25 tug today with Jeff Messmer who has been a delight to work with over the past weeks etc. He actually just lives up the road from our home in Woodinville, WA so we are real neighbours. Our R-25 is being built as I write this and will be ready July 15 if all goes well. After the factory orientation and sea trial the boat will be moored at Port of Edmonds on July 17. I've just reserved/committed to the moorage so it will be available for rent to others from now thru July 17. RE: Slip D-31. 😉 Contact Susan Wade at Port of Edmonds if anyone you know wants a short term slip moorage spot.

We (Gill and Barry) hail from the 'old' country England although Gill will quickly tell you she's Manx -- you know, that small island between England and Ireland 🙂 . I did a great deal of sailing in my teens and early 20s around England and to/from the French coast. We sailed most often from Southampton and the waters around the Isle of Wight which is situated in the mouth of the Solent. The tides are quite intriguing around the Isle of Wight and give rise to huge swells at the east and west ends of the island when opposite tides collide. The swells can be very obnoxious to people who suffer from sea sickness -- especially if there's little wind. The island causes multiple tides which makes things even more interesting for sailors. 😉 No matter, I'm way of topic here.... but that gives you a little personal background. 🙂

We have yet to name our boat so stay tuned. My wife is Manx and as she will be naming the boat it will be interesting to see what she comes up with. 😉

The boat will have a Midnight blue hull if that's significant to others!

If we both have our sea legs by the Sep 11-13 (I suspect we will) we will without doubt make the GTG in Bremerton to meet all of you.

Please place our names on your event list of attendees.

Regards... Gill and Barry

Gill and Barry,
Congratulations on your new family member!

Your name is on the list! See you in Bremerton!

With Gill and Barry added to the list we now have 15 vessels!

Dumb question of the day: can we reserve a slip as part of this 15-boat entourage, or is the marina just reserving space for us and we slide in on a first-come, first-served basis?

There is never a dumb question other than the one you fail to ask. The answer to the question is, yes we can continue to reserve space until the day we show up. Even at that point the marina has said they will make space. We currently have five slips reserved. The marina charges a deposit of five dollars per slip to reserve slips. I have paid this myself as it is the easiest way to handle it.

Christina Bee and Solitude will be in the marina on the 6th of September. Tina and Steve will be touring while I will be "working". My wife, Maureen, will fly in on Friday afternoon on the 11th.

The easiest way to do this is to reserve as many slips as we can ahead of time to insure the prime location in the marina. In mid August we will need to firm up who is attending and who is not to insure that we do not over book or under book.

Hello David and Maureen,

I will be attending the Rendezvous with my family aboard a Ranger R29.
Andrew will be attending the Rendezvous aboard a Ranger R25.

We are looking forward to it.

Thank you,

Jeff

Jeff and Andrew,
Great to hear you both are going to be able to attend! We have both of you added to the list!
Thanks,

David and Maureen,

Thank you for organizing the rendezvous! We are Bob and Nita Ostlund from Bothell and we have an R-29 which we took possession of in May. Our boat is named the "Nellie Too" and we would like to participate in the NRR in Bremerton. We are one of those who had an R-25 and moved up to the larger boat.

Please include us.

Thanks,
Bob and Nita Ostlund

Wow -- I'm counting around 20 Ranger Tugs will be gathering in Sept. Should be fun and a great photo shoot if we can get them all lined up (maybe nose to tail or should that be bow to stern 😉 ). I'm anxious to see what all the little things people have added to their boats and the boating experiences chat. 😀

Darrel and Dee Lawson on the Lucky Fin hope to be there. Planning and juggling will start now. Sounds like a good time to meet a whole bunch of Nuts. What kind of prize goes to the boat pulled the furtherest to get to the rendezvous? 475 miles would'nt win, I bet. Any east coasters planning?

😀

We are at 14 confirmed and 6 possibles it appears! 15 R-25's, 3 R-29's, and 2 R-21's!

I will be in Bremerton the first week of August on business and will finallizing the plans with the marina. I will let them know we are now at 20 vessels and could expect more!

I will also get with Poulsbo marina and let them know we are planning to come to Poulsbo on Saturday. That will be a sight to see, 20 Ranger Tugs all motoring on up to Poulsbo!

At this time, there are no east coast boats planning to attend. We do have two from Northern California and my wife and I from Vegas. At this time it appears that we will be traveling the furthest.

Below is the list of those that have expressed interest and/or committed to coming. Please verify by the first week of August as to whether or not you still plan to attend. Again, the marina has said there is no issue with additional vessels showing up on the day of the event. I apologize if I have left anyone off. If I did leave you off, please let me know and I will add you to the list.

Trinity would like to attend too!
One boat, 3 people......

Zuma (R-29) is a definite YES for the rendezvous...

Wow! Another three vessels have signed up! That takes the total to 17 vessels attending the PNW rendezvous in Bremerton. To Clarify, the dates are the 11th, 12th, and 13th of September. More than likely, most people will arrive late on the 11th as this is a Friday. Solitude, Christina Bee, and Blue Bayou will arrive on Sunday the 5th. Steve and myself will be available on the 11th to assist in directing vessels into slips as well as securing. Please call out on channel 71 for either Solitude or Christina Bee upon arrival. We will direct you into the location within the marina and assist you getting secured to the dock.

Friday night we will have cocktails on the dock (BYOB) and everyone will fend for their own dinner. Anthonys Seafood is right at the marina. There are a couple of fast food offerings within walking distance also. Saturday the 12th we will cruise to Poulsbo for lunch (on your own) and then return for a smorgasbord of pulled meat sandwiches and salads at Bremerton. Along with the salads and sandwiches we will feature numerous desserts. This function will also be BYOB.

Sunday we will have breakfast snacks (coffee cakes, donuts, etc) available. Most folks will head back to their selective homes sometime on Sunday.

Solitude and Christina Bee are headed for ten days in the San Juans on Monday morning. The itinerary is very lose dependant upon the weather, tides, and how much fun we are having in each location. The plan is to stay in marinas allowing us the chance to visit the small towns along the way. Anyone wanting to join in is welcome. We will be pulling our vessels out in Anacortes. Our plan is to launch at Port Orchard on Sunday the 5th and then take the tow vehicles to Anacortes on either Sunday or Monday the 5th or 6th.

Below is the updated list of vessels attending:

As the date of the Rendezvous draws nearer, Maureen and I are finalizing some of the plans. Mainly the BBQ on Saturday evening.

With that said, we need to get a pretty clear number as to who is truly planning to attend and who is hoping to attend. We also need to know the number of person's aboard each vessel to insure that we have enough food. A PM would be the best way to do this. Please include: Number of persons on your vessel as well as their names. Please list the names in order of the owners and then any children or adult guests. Please note whether they are children or adult guests.

As I receive confirmations, I will update the list and post it.

Dinner and dessert will be provided. Each vessel needs to BYOB.

Donations of paper plates, plastic utensils, plastic cups, napkins would be much appreciated.

Continue to pay attention to the thread as the date draws closer for updates and activity plans......
