How do I access the starboard windshield wiper motor in my Cutwater 30CB?
Thanks.

Remove the brow speaker. Twist off the cover, remove the speaker screws.

Thanks. I wondered if that was the case or if you had to come in from the command bridge console. I think the motor is shorting out and needs replacement. Will try again when the cold rain stops!

What symptom is the wiper motor exhibiting if you don't mind me asking?

It started moving very slowly and then tripping the fuse located above the two speed on/off switch. When I reset, it will move about a little and then trip the switch again. Any thoughts on the best way to troubleshoot? I was thinking of taking the motor out and connecting it to 12 volts to see of it works smoothly when not on the boat circuitry. If it doesn't, I'm thinking it's the motor. Any thoughts?

Mine was acting similarly. There was a factory wiring problem with two speed wipers for a few years. I'm not sure your motor is bad. I'll send you my email address via PM and I'll be able to share more info. So you can check.

Vessels Affected:
All Ranger Tug 25, 27, 29, and 31 models, and Cutwater Boat 26, 28, and 30 models equipped with the above-mentioned wiring, starting with hull numbers that were produced between 2011 and ending with hull numbers as noted below:
Cutwater 30: 3006-415 Cutwater 28: 2808-415 Cutwater 26: 2608-415 Ranger 31: 3115-415

I had a similar problem on my 29CB, with the exception of tripping the fuse. What I found was the rubber bushing on the stem that the wiper arm attaches to had, for whatever reason, seized up. I hit it with a bunch of penetrating lubricant and it loosened up and now works fine. Check that out by just moving the wiper arm (will make terrible noises). Frankly, I think your problem is different, but this an easy thing to try.

Here's what I found.

The wiper motor was indeed burned out.
The park wire connection from both wiper motors were brought forward from the Cutwater factory with a single wire to the 2 switches - apparently that's a no-no and each park wire needs to be independently wired. I called Cutwater and was dismayed with their lack of assistance in trying to troubleshoot.

It was suggested by others that the high speed wires from the 2 dash switches be disconnected. Since I live in the NW where it rains alot, I wanted the high-speed capability. I contacted the wiper product folks and asked if I could simply disconnect the port side park wires at both the switch and the motor. They confirmed this is ok. I think it's the best solution to avoid burning out future motors; and I can park the port wiper manually.
