I updated my Garmin 5212 from v5.2 to v5.9 today. It took 5 mins to update the Garmin autopilot and another 5 mins to update the 5212. It installed without issues.
With the engine ignition key in the accessories position the Yanmar data was shown to be available. I setup a "Combination" screen display to show the Yanmar digital data in the right hand side black bar -- see photos below. This black vertical bar normally shows only GPS Speed, Depth and GPS Heading. By tapping an area in the black bar below the "GPS Heading" a blue box appears and one is presented with "Engine 1". Press/tapping "Engine 1" will then list all the Yanmar engine data that is available. Select the one you want and it will display below the "GPS Heading" digital readout. One keeps doing this until all the black side bar is occupied with Yanmar digital readout data.
The last "Engine 1" -> "Fuel" readout I opted to display was the "Remaining" fuel -- not a very good readout IMO.
🙁
Note that a full screen display can be setup to display all the "Engine 1" data in digital or analog form (round dials) if you want that. I forgot to capture a photo shot of either of these.
😉
I cranked the engine up to ensure the Yanmar engine dynamic data displayed correctly -- and it did.
😀
This digital Yanmar engine data on the Garmin display screen in the right hand side vertical black bar sure beats having to stoop down and squint at the small square Yanmar stock display -- especially in bright daylight.
One note -- The Yanmar "Engine 1" available data indicated the Trim information could be displayed. However, I was unable to get it to display anything, even though it displayed a side view of a boat silhouette with trim tabs deployed -- shame if it's not available -- maybe others can post back the error of my ways...
😉 Is this "Trim"/"Tilt" related to an engine that tilts maybe ?
