May be an unpopular opinion but we have the yachtbedding setup and while it fits nice and is good quality both my wife and i feel like it is absolutely NOT worth the premium we paid for it.

When you folks speak about mattress toppers, that means you are dropping a new mattress or memory foam over the factory cushions? Why not remove the factory stuff and replace with a thicker mattress or piece of foam? My plan is to remove the upholstery and foam components of the v-berth and retain the boards so I have a rigid base under the new 4" memory foam. I'd appreciate comments/thoughts. I've never done this before... What am I missing?

It's easier to tuck a sheet under a soft 3" pad.

Five years ago, I had an upholstery shop add 1 1/2” of memory foam to the existing cushions on my 2012 R27. There was enough excess fabric on the cushions so the extra foam did not require replacing the fabric.

When we first started staying overnight in the cuddy of our 2012 R27, we discovered, as many others have, that the OEM cuddy cushions were not up to the sleeping task. We used a foam topper for a couple seasons, but I tired of fooling with it when I wanted to access the cuddy storage bins.

In December 2020, I had a local upholstery shop make some modifications to our cuddy cushions and bolster upholstery. Here’s what I had them do:

1) Add an inch and a half of memory foam to all cuddy cushions. There is enough fabric on the cushions to accommodate the extra foam. I had to have the...

We have a 2025 R27 and a California King topper worked for our DIY foam topper. So if you are debating between queen and king definitely go with the king. We did not cut much off the length and barely any on the port/starboard sides closest to the bathroom and coffee station.
