PNW 2011 Ranger Rendezvous - single topic

What a great weekend it was indeed. 60+ boats attended! The weather, well, the weather was incredible! Clear sky's temps in the 80's and just a light breeze!

Thanks to all of those that put this event together. It is a tremendous amount of hard work and efforts!

Add our names to the list for the 2012 event as well.

While we will continue our efforts to sell Karma, we are in no hurry and do not plan to "give her away". As many of you are aware, we are in search of a new "home" (aka, boat) in the Seattle area. With the amount of time we spend aboard, we are looking for additional creature comforts. Maureen and I have now racked up close to 300 nights aboard since taking delivery of Karma. At this rate, we would like to have a sofa as well a few other creature comforts (a larger closet would also be nice...).

In reality, Karma is the perfect size as far as we are concerned. Moorage is reasonable as you are not going into that 36-40 range. Guest moorage is more readily available as once again you are not going into 36 to 40 foot range.

In the mean time, we will continue to cruise and enjoy Karma on Puget Sound and beyond. We will plan mini cruises and cruises that we hope others will come along on.

Again, thanks to those that put in all of the effort to make this event such as success!

Thanks to all who made the rendezvous such an outstanding event. Four days of new and continuing friendship, education, fun, and food. The factory team rocks, the vendor participation was valuable and appreciated, and the special guests were delightful.

Vicki and I can't imagine a better way to prepare for our new R-29 (thanks to everyone for sharing ideas - you were making Howard nervous). And to top it all off, our great friends and neighbors (Jason & Susan) ordered a new R-29 for themselves!

Did I mention the food?

Nice job.

I can't believe this year's Rendezvous is over. As David mentioned, the "official" number of boats was 61 plus 7 factory boats plus many people staying in the Hampton Inn, plus so many wonderful people from the factory. And the weather was incredible! Who would have thought that too hot would be a problem in September? Thank you to SO many people for making it all possible. Ranger/Cutwater owners are just amazing!

The Planning Committee will look over the survey results and many great suggestions from you and will have an "official" date for next year posted here soon. Many of you expressed an interest in having a personal email for the many boaters you met. IF you want to be included in a communication link, please send me a PM with your contact email and also include any corrections to your name or home port from the one passed out at the Rendezvous. I'll compile the list of contact information and send it to your personal email.

If you didn't turn in a survey form, it's not too late to add your suggestions for next year. Include that as well in your PM to me. I also have acquired the "Rendezvous Crab Dip" from Saturday night's BBQ. . . . . I will send it to those of you who request it.

Thanks again everyone!

Laurie

Ditto to the last few posts. The Bremerton meeting exceeded our expectations and it was so nice to meet up with other Tugnuts that we knew only from their forum postings. Gill appreciated being given a slip closer to the tent activities (thanks Laurie & David) 🙂

61 boats and still there was more room/slips available. I can just see it, 70 to 80 boats in 2012.

We will simply have to get to the next Rendezvous a day earlier as we missed some meetings/gatherings held Thursday and early Friday morning.

Gill and I aren't sun lovers, but gosh, I'm getting a tan with all this time on the water in this glorious Pacific Northwest late summer. I wonder how long it will keep up! Having picked up 2 nights at Roche Harbor at the auction we just might make a dash up there with our new Fox Terrier puppy Jake late Sep or in October before things cool down and to allow Jake to get his sea legs (mind you, this is just my excuse for another few days up in the San Juan islands). 😀

Gill and I want to say a BIG thank you to the organizing committee and all the people who attended. It was great chatting to all of you.

Can't wait to see the Tugnuts group photo that Bruce took...
