Well Tugnutters, we are almost there! I received the sign up sheet from Diane at Ranger Tugs this evening. We now have 46 vessels that are planning to attend! Along with that we will have Monika and Joe, as well as John and Laurie staying at the Hampton since their vessels will be on the east coast. My goal was to have 50 vessels! We will exceed that, now we shoot for 75!

I have attached the new and updated list. Please look it over. If I have incorrectly spelled a name, or left something off, let me know so I can correct it.

The diesel seminar is filling up. The conference room only seats 25 so we will have to limit it to that. We currently have room for five additional attendees.

The dates of the rendezvous will be September 10th, 11th, and 12th.

The location will be at the Bremerton City Marina in Bremerton Washington

All vessels are responsible for paying their own moorage. Reservations have already been made for all vessels so there is no need to contact the marina. Moorage fees are not due until your date of arrival.

Friday:
Vessels arrive, as each vessel arrives, please check in under tent for welcome package. Name tags will be provided for all. Please be sure that we have everyone that will be attending with you listed to insure they have a name tag.

Ice Breaker cocktail party on dock (BYOB and BYOChair) Cocktail party will start when the first person says so........
Friday evening (6:00 pm) potluck. As we get closer we will solicit everyone for what they would like to bring.

Since some of the men will be busy taking a class on boat engine care Saturday morning, how about if us ladies hop a short ferry ride to Port Orchard and take in the Farmer's Market. The ferry ride is about 10 minutes and the market is right on the water.

We went last year and it was a lot of fun. Along with the fruit and vegetables for sale, they had homemade bread (delicious), plants, and many crafts.

This is just another idea of what we can do.

NIta 🙂
Nellie Too

Nita,
This sounds like a great idea! Some of us men who will not be attending the diesel seminar may want to tag along..... you will need someone to carry the groceries.......

We are the new owners of a 2009 R25, boat # 2527, "Blue Flu", having purchased her Oct. 31st, 2009 from Farallone Yachts in Alameda, California, (SF Bay Area). We are very new to boating and are busy learning everything we can about our "Blue FlU". We have enjoyed all of your postings, including your experiences with the R25....already has saved us problems! We also purchased a trailer for "Blue Flu" and plan on trailering it to Seattle area for the start of the rendezvous...wondering if there is any other members from the Bay area that also plan on trailering their vessel to attend the rendezvous? We have no idea where to launch or where to go, would enjoy any and all assistance in our maiden adventure! We would like to be included on the list of participants for the 2010 Rendezvous and to be signed up for the diesel Cummins 150 class.

Scott and April

Hi Scott and April,
Welcome to the club. We live close to Seattle and would be happy to help you get your boat launched in the area ,and , perhaps offer temporary moorage at our house for the event. Give us a call at (425) 488-1713.
Bob and Nita

Well, Scott and April make it 47 vessels for the 2010 Rendezvous. Bremerton City Marina is very excited about the prospect of having a rendezvous of this size! They have assured me that they will have all of us within the same area so there will no going from one dock to another!

They will also provide us with 50 amp splitters which will allow us to get more vessels on the breakwater.

Below is the list of those that have expressed their interest so far. Please let me know if there are any errors in names, boat names, etc.

Currently we have space for four additional guests at the diesel seminar.

Attached is the updated list of those that plan to attend the 2010 Rendezvous in Bremerton. We are currently at 48 vessels and holding! The goal is 75 vessels! If you have not yet signed up, it is not too late. Last years rendezvous was such a great success that 46 more vessels have signed up than what were signed up last year! Up until August of last year, we thought we would only have three boats and then we ended up with 32!

This is a great way to meet other Ranger Tug owners. You can either shoot me a PM or just simply reply to this thread and I will add your name to the list. Please include the names of the folks that will be attending with your vessel (this would include guests), the model that you own, and the name of your vessel.

The only cost to those attending the rendezvous is your moorage at Bremerton City Marina.

Land locked Attendees (Staying at Hampton Inn)

1) Joe and Monika (the infamous Sparky), Starry Night, R-25, Coming from VA
2) John and Laurie, Laurie Ann, R-25

See you on the water!

Back on page 5 Nita from Nellie II suggested CRAFTS. This idea got Lynne all excited. Lynne decorates hen eggs usually as Christmas Tree decorations -- she has been doing this for 30 years and they are all around the world. She sells them for under $20.If you have a small photo of your boat (business card?) or your grandchild or ??, bring it to Bremerton and Lynne can do an egg for you. You won't get it in Bremerton -- at least this year!

If you want one delivered in Bremerton, you can contact Lynne direct (not through me -- I'm a senile senior!).

For those of you planning to attend the rendezvous and stay at the Hampton Inn, the Inn is now fully booked for that weekend. If you have reservations, you are in good shape. If you don't, there is a brand new Fairfield Inn just a block away. If you are planning to attend, and need a room, please let me know. I can get you a room for $83.00 per night plus tax. This is $26.00 below the rack rate.

We will need to book these rooms as soon as possible as there is a big Navy function in town that weekend.

It now looks like the Laurie Ann will no longer be "tugless" at the Rendezvous. We will NOT be needing a reservation at the Hampton Inn after all and will be joining all of you with our boat. Due to a variety of circumstances, we've decided to stay in the PNW this summer and spend July and August boating to points up north. Probably as far as Desolation but not as far as Alaska. So add our boat to the many attending . . . . how many will be in attendance now?

Laurie

John and Laurie - Although I know you were excited with the prospects of finishing "the loop" this year, we are excited that your plans have changed and look forward to seeing you this summer in the PNW. I don't know the total count for the Rendezvous, but I am sure as soon as Dave is back from Hawaii on business he will post an update and change your reservation at the Hampton to a reservation on the Laurie Ann. Talk to you soon!
Maureen

Yeaaaaaa!!!!!!! The Laurie Ann will be at the Rendezvous!!!!! Yeaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!! As I am sitting here in Honolulu awaiting my red eye back to the mainland, my thoughts turn to the rendezvous! John and Laurie bump the number up to 48 vessels planning to attend. Life is so much easier on the water!

This past weeks half way there cruise was such great fun. We had eight vessels attend. We met on Friday at Shilshole Bay Marina. Saturday morning we all got to experience the "big" lock! With no experience, we all made it through without a hitch. The weather was great! The sun shone all day Saturday as we cruised the "lakes".

The ride home on Sunday was very bumpy with the waves breaking over the bow every two to three seconds. Karma just kept plugging along with not a care in the world! What a great boat built by a bunch of great people!

Unfortunately, we will not be in the PNW this weekend as I forgot to buy Maureen a airline ticket...... how could that be???? Oh well, it will be a weekend on Lake Mead on our Boston Whaler.

As the t-shirts all say "life is good"!

Wow! Thanks Maureen and David for such a warm response . . . We are looking forward to boating here in our own backyard this boating season - for we are SO lucky to have these waters right here!

Many of you that have signed up for the 2nd Annual Ranger Tugs Owners Rendezvous in Bremerton, also indicated a desire to attend the Diesel Workshop. With that in mind, I have bad news....... we will be unable to provide a diesel workshop at the seminar. However, Yanmar and Cummins will both be at the rendezvous to answer any questions that owners may have. Both manufacturers do not believe it will benefit anyone if they do not have a motor to teach hands on experience with.

The good news is, Ranger Tugs and Yanmar will sponsor a seminar at the Yanmar office where they have a classroom with an engine set up. The date for this seminar has not yet been established.

Once we have times available for when the Yanmar Folks will be at the rendezvous, we will post a sign up for owners. This will give you the opportunity to have the Yanamar or Cummins rep on your boat to answer your questions. Please though, allow other owners to attend your session as they may have the same questions. An example of this would be, I personally would like to know how to change my fuel filters. I will provide Yanmar with the equipment needed as well as replacement filters if they will show me how to do it. For this exercise, we could have six or eight others gathered around watching and observing.

Andrew is currently working with other manufacturers to have their representatives present also. If you have any suggestion as to a manufacturer that you would like to see in attendance, please post it here. Garmin is a give me. WE ALL want them there. How about Nova Kool? Are you operating your refrigeration to its fullest potential? Bolton Stainless? Is there a stainless steel item you would like to have made for your vessel? I am not sure if we can get these folks, but let your imagination run wild.......

MER does on a regular schedule offer diesel classes at their facility in Seattle. If you cannot make the rendezvous or miss the instruction call the MER office and sign up for a class. The class is a generic diesel class meaning not brand specific.

Our plans are starting to firm up for the summer. At this point it looks like we will be able to leave Texas for cooler climates in July, August and September. Please put Willie (Wilma), Jake and I down as a definite maybe. We plan to be in the PNW for most of August and September. Making the Rendezvous and then working our way back South afterwards. Looking forward to seeing the R27.
