Laurie and the Organizing Committee

As of right now, I have the following four people on the list for the hotel. If you have requested a room and do not see your name on the list, please send me a PM so I can get you added.
Randy and Ida Riffe
Charles Kollerer
Bob and Dil Pisani
Ted and Carol Whittier

The factory will be taking seven of the rooms, I will be taking one for storage.

We have 16 rooms reserved and right now 12 are spoken for. The rate is $78.00 plus tax. All rooms are currently in my name. On Tuesday, September 6th, you will need to contact the Hotel and give them your credit card information for your room. If you have not done so by Wednesday afternoon, your room will be canceled to avoid no show fees. Please do not call before Tuesday as the rooms are in my name at this time. (This assures us the rate)

Joanna and I plan on coming to the Rendezvous with our new R29 and will arrive on Sept 8.
We had to cancel out of the Desolation Sound trip due to surgery but we are really looking forward to the Tugfest and meeting other Tug owners. 🙂

David and Joanna

David and Joana - I've added you to the list and your boat makes #49!! Looks like they'll be quite a group coming from the Gulf Islands area. Welcome and we all look forward to meeting you soon.

I'm still looking for BBQ chefs for Saturday night . . .

Silent auction news :!:

Get ready for the silent auction! This planned event will take place Friday evening from 5 – 8 p.m. Proceeds from this event will go to support the Ranger Tug/Cutwater Rendezvous in 2012 and the Sea Scouts. The split will be 50/50.

We would like each boat to bring an auction item. Let’s be creative and come up with some fun items to auction off. Stop by your favorite marina, kitchen store, marine store, etc. and find something that people can use on their boat. Think about an item that you use on your boat that makes life a bit easier on the water.

If you already know of an auction item you want to bring to the rendezvous, please send me a PM that includes the item description and value. This will give me plenty of time to prepare the auction forms.

This should be a lot of fun. 🙂 😀  😱

Keeping this thread on the front page while John and Laurie are off the grid in the Broughtons. You can still reply here to get on the list, ask a question, or just express some enthusiasm. And, remember, this is a Ranger rendezvous - any more Cutwaters out there?

Cheers

Denis and Sue - You've been added to the list of people coming. And such a unique way to attend via a cute 17 ft Escape trailer!

We have 49 boats coming, people staying in the hotel, coming over for the day and now camping too. All to be a part of this fun event!

IF your name is not on the list, let me know. Remember we have a craft fair, veggie race, owner's forum, silent auction, vendor's, and all kinds of great food. Don't forget your tropical-margarita attire for Friday night.

Laurie

While you are planning your trip to the PNW Ranger Rendezvous, don't forget to think about an auction item you would like to contribute. So far we have some very interesting, creative items that people are donating. So get your thinking cap on and come up with something very creative/not so creative that will interest boaters.

Again the proceeds from this event will be spit equally going to the Ranger rendezvous in 2012 and to the Sea Scouts.

If you know what you would like to donate, please send a private message explaining what the item is and the actual value.

We are still looking for additional 30-40 cup coffee makers for the coffee crawl. As of now Nita and I will be bringing our 30 cup, Patrick and Gail (from Salt Spring Island) will be bringing their 40 cup and the factory will be bringing their (I think) 40 cup maker. I talked to John Livingston and he said they will contribute the coffee. The purpose of the many pots is to get people moving to various areas of the dock and make new and lasting friends. I thought I would schedule various times the coffee would be available along the dock and all the participant would have to do is prepare it the night before and plug it in.
Thanks,
Bob and Nita

We met a Canadian couple that were guests on a 53 ft Fleming and they STILL thought our little tug was the boat to have and may be coming to the Rendezvous. You just never know when and where you'll meet potential Ranger owners while boating!

Laurie

Dan and I would like to head up from Olympia and attend the rendezvous with our new R25SC. Please sign us up, we are excited to meet all of the other tuggers and join in the fun. Thanks! Lois Cheney

Wonderful Dan and Lois of Hoku Kai. Welcome to the Ranger Tug family! You are #49 (I recounted and corrected) Ranger that will be arriving. Watch Tug Nuts for upcoming information.

John and I are back on "the grid", so more information will be coming shortly!

Laurie

Why is it that whenever we schedule a Ranger Rendezvous no one shows up?

Last year we surprised a Ranger Tug on Lake Powell. Oh, he didn't know anything about a rendezvous!

In June (last month) we trailered to the Erie Canal (Brewerton, NY) and sailed across Lake Ontario to do the Rideau Canal. Had a great time . . . all by ourselves! In spectacular downtown Ottawa we tied up in front of a Boston Whaler and Jane ran up to us and said to husband, Dick, "Now THAT'S the boat I want!" That fell on deaf ears because Dick's uncle had been the founder of the Boston Whaler company. Anyway, we had a great few days buddy-boating with them.

We got as far as Montreal (and took the train to Quebec City) before turning around. The Chambly Canal would still be closed (flooding) for two weeks, thwarting our plan to return via Lake Champlain. The reverse route on the Rideau was like a new experience.

We trailered to Chattanooga where "Two If By Sea" is in covered, climate-controlled, luxury digs. Will return to her in October when reasonable temperatures return to the South.

Have a great rendezvous!

In 2009 we had 32 boats show up for the rendezvous in Bremerton, the largest gathering of Ranger Tugs in one place ever. In 2010, we surpassed that number with 42 setting a new record. This year, it appears there will be over 50 Ranger Tugs in one place at one time!!!!! What a sight that will be!

If you are attending the 2011 Ranger Rendezvous in Bremerton this September, please download the registration form, print and complete it, and mail it with a check for the registration fee. Mailing instructions are included on the form. The forms are needed prior to September 2.

Download Registration form.

Thanks from the planning committee!

Just bumping this up to the front page. It's not too late to add your name to the list of 50 (!!) boaters coming for the Rendezvous. Add your name to the list by posting here, download the registration form, try to find an item for the silent auction, and read this thread for details. After the flotilla of tugs cruising Desolation gets back, more details will be coming towards the end of August.

And did I read on Jeff's blog the need for two (!) margarita machines?

Laurie

We are newish owners of Purfec! a Ranger 27 in Port of Edmonds. We just sent in our registration for the Ranger Rendezvous and are looking forward to seeing you all.
